In front of friends, family and coaches, East High School football lineman Siaki Ika signed his national letter of intent to play at Louisiana State University on Wednesday morning in the high school’s gym.
Ika chose LSU over Florida, Oregon, USC and the hometown University of Utah. He announced his decision by picking up an LSU hat and putting it on.
“This is the happiest day of my life,” Ika said as he fought back tears and thanked those in the audience for their support.
Ika is a four-star recruit and considered the top prep football in the state, according to 247sports.
