Mike Empey is back coaching at BYU, and it would take a team of plastic surgeons to take the smile off his face.
He can’t wait to get to work every day to see some of his best friends, Kalani Sitake, Ty Detmer and Ed Lamb. To be in the war room with those guys is a “dream come true,” an opportunity he couldn’t resist, a pull he had to answer.
“This is where I belong and want to be. I couldn’t be more excited,” said Empey, named BYU offensive line coach on Thursday.
Back in the day, Empey coached BYU tight ends and was recruiting coordinator.
