Dick Harmon: Fifth year of BYU FanFests becoming competitive for crowd numbers

Kerry Driggs

There is an insatiable desire for BYU football here. I can tell you that.

This BYU FanFest thing has turned into a competition with a little smack talk.

It was in full bloom Saturday when Kalani Sitake took five coaches, eight players and some staff to Houston where they were hosted and toasted by BYU fans who came from the Houston area as well as Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Galveston, Beaumont and as far away as Louisiana.

Houston is where BYU plays Louisiana State from the SEC the first week of September. It is also a fertile collegiate recruiting area and well-established pocket of BYU alumni and fans, some of whom have never seen a game in Provo.
