Cougars tighten defense late to hold off Pacific, 69-59

Provo • Freshman Connor Harding gave BYU a lift off the bench with 13 points and the Cougars held off Pacific 69-59 on Saturday night to remain in second place in the West Coast Conference standings.

Yoeli Childs added 19 points and 13 rebounds as the Cougars improved to 8-3 in league play, 16-10 overall, in winning their third-straight game.

Neither team led by more than four in a see-saw second half until Luke Worthington hit a layup and Nick Emery swished a 3-pointer to give the Cougars a 63-57 advantage with just over four minutes left.
