The Colts junior came into the 200-yard individual medley as the Class 5A defending state champion, and he pulled away from teammate Colin Dailey and Woods Cross senior Addison Morris for a second straight title, touching in 1 minute, 55.56 seconds. It was 2 seconds better than second-place Dailey. Kimble also will swim the 100 breaststroke, where he has the second-best qualifying time.
The sophomore sped to victory in the 50 freestyle, an event that featured two defending state champions: herself in Class 4A and West’s Fane Wolfgramm in Class 5A.
