Cache County inmate escapes from custody by stealing truck

A Cache County inmate allowed to volunteer at a farm because of his good behavior escaped from custody by stealing a truck during his shift there Thursday morning.

The inmate, 32-year-old Joshua Michael Aders, was last seen in the Wellsville-area wearing black-and-white striped pants, a fluorescent green T-shirt and black, lace-up boots, according to a news release from the Cache County Sheriff’s Office.

Aders was volunteering at the American West Heritage Center Farm in Wellsville when he stole a 2005 white Ford Ranger pickup about 11:45 a.m. and drove away, according to the release. The truck, Utah license plate number D450Y, is equipped with an orange caution light on its cab and a diamond plated toolbox in the bed.
