PROVO — BYU’s search for a new head basketball coach could be wrapped up as soon as this week.
The closing date for the application process for the job is Tuesday, according to the school’s employment website. Having a head coach in place this week could be crucial because the college basketball recruiting contact and evaluation period runs from April 11-14 and April 19-24.
The top four candidates for BYU’s coaching vacancy are believed to be Utah Valley University’s Mark Pope; Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Mark Madsen; Portland State head coach Barret Peery; and BYU interim head coach Quincy Lewis.
