BYU women's basketball: Cougars lock down defensively, get past Loyola Marymount 75-61

Lexi Rydalch led the way for the Cougars, scoring a game-high 28 points which paired nicely with her 11 rebounds.

PROVO — A great effort crashing the boards, along with some inspired lockdown defense during the third quarter, helped lift the BYU women's basketball team past visiting Loyola Marymount 75-61 on Thursday.

The Cougars led throughout but found their lead cut down to 33-29 at the half, leading BYU coach Jeff Judkins to be quite direct in his halftime speech.

The theme of that speech? That would be defense and lot's of it.

“That’s like all the speech was about,” confirmed Makenzi Pulsipher with a bit of a laugh.
