BYU Volleyball drops second match to UC Santa Barbara

The third-ranked Cougars were swept again in their back-to-back match-up with the ninth-ranked UC Santa Barbara Gauchos on Saturday night, losing 15-25, 16-25, and 25-27.

The Cougars struggled from the get-go, and were never a real threat to the Gauchos in the first two sets. The Cougars continued to struggle on serves, committing 13 service errors in the match. Gabi Garcia Fernandez led the Cougars again with 13 kills.

The third set saw improvement from the Cougars, who led 19-15 and 24-22 in the set. The Cougars thought they had won the match on a Fernandez kill, but the match officials called a violation on Fernandez, allowing the Gauchos to tie the set and eventually win.
