PROVO — BYU and UCLA have met 11 times going into Saturday’s showdown at LaVell Edwards Stadium, with the Bruins holding an 8-3 advantage.

It's been a colorful series between the two programs.

BYU won the first-ever meeting, 37-35, in Pasadena in 1983 as part of the Cougars’ 11-1 season. Two years later, in 1985, UCLA snapped the Cougars’ 25-game winning streak after BYU’s national championship campaign with a 27-24 victory.
