BYU shakes off slow start, rolls past Fresno State 52-10 on Senior Day

PROVO — It took nearly a quarter for BYU to get going Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium, but the Cougars erupted in the second quarter and ran away with a 52-10 Senior Day win against Fresno State.

Senior defensive end Bronson Kaufusi played arguably the best game of his Cougar career, registering five solo tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, a pass breakup and a blocked field goal.

The Cougar offense came out stagnant, punting on its first three driveswith only one first down earned in that span. Fresno State put the first points onto the scoreboard with a field goal nine minutes into the game, and BYU kicker Trevor Samson (a Fresno native) added one of his own on the ensuing possession.
