BYU seeks more consistency as 4-4 Cougars put troubling loss to NIU behind them

“We need to be more consistent as a team,” BYU coach Kalani Sitake said Monday in his weekly news conference, two days after the Cougars fell to 4-4 overall with a disappointing 7-6 loss to Northern Illinois. “That’s my job as head coach — to find ways to be more consistent.”

Sitake repeated that theme a dozen or so times in a 12-minute question-and-answer session with reporters, saying the Cougars “have some really good players,” but have struggled to put together complete performances.

“If you look at the season, we have played some really good games, and we’ve played some really bad ones,” Sitake said.
