Provo • It probably took longer than it should have, but BYU rolled past Pepperdine 83-63 on Thursday night in a West Coast Conference game at the Marriott Center.
Breaking from a six-point halftime lead, the heavily favored Cougars put the hammer down early in the second half and coasted to the finish. BYU improved to 3-2 in league play, 14-4 overall. Pepperdine fell to 0-5 and 3-14 and suffered its eighth straight loss.
Elijah Bryant and Yoeli Childs combined for 46 points for BYU, with Bryant scoring 25 in 30 minutes and Childs also adding 12 rebounds and matching his season high with six assists.
