BYU men’s golf ended the first day of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational at Meadow Club in seventh place on Monday.

“We made a lot of birdies during the first round,” BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said. “The second round was a little out of the ordinary. We had six or seven double bogies, and we were getting bigger numbers. We finished the second round a little sloppy, which means we need to come out tomorrow and see if we can put a good score together and have a nice finish.”

The Cougars finished 36 holes of play shooting 17-under par.
