BYU football notebook: Cougars use early-season success on the recruiting front

PROVO — There’s no question that BYU’s start to the season has brought a lot of positive exposure to the program, despite last week’s tough loss to UCLA. Cougar highlights have been shown constantly on ESPN and other outlets while national programs have come calling constantly for player interviews.

It’s the type of exposure that isn’t lost on recruits, both national and local.

On the heels of BYU’s latest win against Boise State, the program received three notable football commitments. Bingham quarterback prospect Keaton Torre committed the day after BYU’s comeback win while Mission Hills (California) 4-star prospect Troy Warner committed several days later along with Bountiful defensive back Max Tooley.
