BYU came alive after sacking Colorado quarterback Kaidon Salter and scored seventeen straight. The Cougars were resilient and kept fighting in the face of their first deficit of the season.
BYU started slow, allowing Colorado to score a touchdown on their opening drive. BYU went for it on fourth down on their first drive and didn't get it, giving the ball to Colorado without any points on the board.
