In a day where both offenses struggled, Northern Illinois’ touchdown was the difference in a 7-6 loss for BYU to Northern Illinois.
The Huskies defensive line dominated BYU’s offensive line all day, as they sacked Zach Wilson 5 times and held BYU to 93 rushing yards on 37 carries.
BYU out-gained NIU in total yardage by nearly 100 yards (301-204), but an inability to sustain drives and the one NIU TD drive did BYU in. Zach Wilson finished 18-30 for 208 and was relatively mistake free up until the interception on BYU’s last offensive play of the game.
