BYU announced that Nick Emery has been reinstated to the basketball program, but the NCAA says it will require him to sit out the first nine games of the 2018-2019 season, as part of the reinstatement conditions. Emery was under NCAA investigation for receiving impermissible benefits from a booster prior to last season.
BYU hasn’t released its full non-conference schedule yet, but Nick’s first or second game back will likely be Dec. 8 versus Utah at Vivint Smart Home Arena. BYU’s 10th game last season fell on Dec. 9. The 2018 season will start five days earlier than last season, so Emery will almost certainly be back in time for that Utah game.
