PROVO — BYU wrapped up its non-conference slate with a 73-52 victory over winless Texas Southern on Saturday night at the Marriott Center.

The Cougars (11-2) were led by 19 points, eight rebounds and two steals from Yoeli Childs, while TJ Haws added 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal as the Cougars won their eighth straight game.

The Tigers (0-13) held BYU to 39 percent shooting in the first half and led 28-24 before the Cougars ended the first half on a 7-0 run to take a 31-28 lead into the break.
