Provo • It is early, and they still haven't left the friendly confines of the Marriott Center, but coach Dave Rose likes what he is seeing out of this relatively young and inexperienced BYU basketball team.
The Cougars assisted on 24 of 33 field goals, amped up their defensive effort and took a comfortable 81-65 win over visiting Coastal Carolina on Saturday night in front of 15,003 fans to improve to 3-0.
"Every game we get a little bit better," Rose said. "We get a little bit more used to playing with each other."
That was on full display for a stretch in the second half, when ball movement was crisp, defense was tenacious and the Cougars seemed to be dunking the ball on every possession.
