Much like the men's teams, both the BYU and Utah women's basketball teams fell short of NCAA Tournament bids and will now turn to the WNIT Tournament in hopes of finishing the season strong.
The Cougars (20-11) received an automatic bid to the WNIT by virtue of being the highest finisher in the West Coast Conference amongst teams that did not receive an NCAA invite. Saint Mary's, which eliminated BYU from the WCC tournament, also received a bid to the 64-team WNIT.
BYU will meet up with Washington State (12-19) in the first round on Thursday at the Marriott Center.
