Midvale • Brighton senior Sidney Kaufmann figured this season’s team would be the first step in a rebuilding process after the Bengals only won three games last season.
But Brighton’s 48-43 win over Hillcrest in a Thursday matinee contest pushed the Bengals’ winnings streak to four, so maybe it was time for a reassessment.
“I was kind of nervous for the season, but my teammates have proved me wrong,” said Kaufmann, who scored 14 points and hauled down nine rebounds.
Brighton (5-3) has been remarkably consistent during its four-game winning streak. Each victory saw the Bengals’ final point total in the 40s, including 48 in last week’s overtime victory over Murray and again Thursday.
