Salt Lake City police say a driver struck a mother and her 5-year-old boy in a crosswalk near 900 West and California Avenue on Saturday.
The boy has died and his mother was taken to the hospital for injuries that are not life threatening.
Police, according to FOX 13, say the driver is being investigated for a DUI. A photo taken from the scene shows a GMC, with a small green bike underneath.
