MALIBU, Calif. — The BYU Cougars outlasted the Pepperdine Waves in overtime Thursday night on the road, winning 75-70.
Turning point: With the game tied at 68 and less than 50 seconds to go, Elijah Bryant converted a 3-point play and the Cougars hung on from there.
The hero: Bryant led all scorers with 25 points, including the clutch ones down the stretch in the extra session.
3 keys:
• BYU did just enough on a night when neither side led by more than four in the second half.
• Bryant was the only player on either side to score more than 20 points, with the Waves’ being led by Trae Berhow’s 12.
