MORAGA, Calif. — BYU couldn't stand toe-to-toe for the full 40 minutes against conference-leading Saint Mary's on Thursday night, as the Cougars faltered down the stretch in losing 75-62 at McKeon Pavilion.
Turning point: After BYU pulled within 54-51, Jock Landale scored five straight points, including his first 3-pointer of the season with 7:05 to play, and Saint Mary's later pushed its lead to double-digits.
The hero: Landale, the conference leader several categories, again led the Gaels to the victory with 32 points and 14 rebounds, shooting an efficient 13 of 19 from the field. He added three blocked shots, two assists and one steal.
