BYU and Utah are set to play the 98th edition of the famous “Holy War” on the gridiron. If you’re reading this, I don’t need to tell you that this is one of the most intense (toxic?) rivalries in all of sports. BYU has won three in a row and Utah has not won a matchup since 2019.
Things feel different this season. Maybe it’s the recent expansion to a 12-team playoff. Maybe it’s conference realignment finally settling (for now). But what’s for sure is that the stakes of the Holy War have never been higher.
