The BYU mens basketball team had losing streaks of six and nine games but two wins at the end of the season helped the Cougars accomplish a goal of making the WAC tournament a season after a 1-25 campaign.
BYU upset No. 16 New Mexico in The Pit 83-62, snapping the second-longest home streak in the nation at 41 games.
The win helped archrival Utah out, allowing the Utes to control their own destiny ahead of their own matchup with the Lobos.
