No. 16 BYU Women’s Volleyball swept Portland on Tuesday afternoon 25-9, 25-22, 25-17 in their season opener and WCC opener.
BYU quickly burst out to 8-0 lead in first set and would go on to dominate the set, winning 25-9.
The second set was much more competitive, with Portland even leading 16-12 at one point. The Cougars were rusty in the set, but finally regained the lead at 23-22 and went on to win 25-22.
The third set was competitive again early on, before the Cougars pulled away to win 25-17 and finish the sweep against the Pilots.
