Women’s Tennis Falls to #44 Purdue in Season Opener

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Butler women's tennis team lost their first match of the season at Purdue on Saturday afternoon, 6-1.

The Bulldogs were lead by No. 1 singles player sophomore Bailey Padgett, who defeated Purdue's Deborah Suarez, 6-1, 6-6 (7-2). It would end up being the Bulldog's only win of the day.

Padgett and junior Kylie Haviland represented Butler at No. 1 doubles earlier in the day. The team was facing a 4-3 deficit before action ended with Purdue taking the point by winning No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
