INDIANAPOLIS – Chris Holtmann was fishing for backcourt help.
But if the Butler Bulldogs were going to lure Avery Woodson, first Woodson was going to see if he could get a bite on his lures. At least that’s what the Butler coach learned last spring after calling and texting the 6-2 guard who had been playing for Memphis.
“I’m fishing right now,” was the message delivered to Holtmann, “and I can’t take any calls.”
Butler was trying to return to the NCAA tournament. Woodson was trying to play in the NCAA tournament.
