INDIANAPOLIS – Butler does not land many four-star prospects in college basketball, and rarely gets any to visit campus. Thus it is consequential that 6-6 Eugene Brown III of Decatur, Georgia, is making the trip this week to Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Brown is ranked 77th nationally by 247 Sports and 102nd by Rivals in the 2020 class. For perspective, consider that incoming recruit Khalif Battle of Trenton, New Jersey — 77th by ESPN — is the highest-ranked prospect ever to sign with the Bulldogs out of high school.
Eugene Brown Jr., who coaches his son at Southwest DeKalb High School, said offers have come from Clemson, South Carolina, TCU, Xavier, Mississippi State and Middle Tennessee State.
