One of his Butler basketball players won TikTok anyway.
Jayden Taylor posted a video Monday showing him in the Hinkle Fieldhouse office of Matta, who faced the camera and gave Taylor a thumbs-up while the freshman showed off dance moves to music.
The old/new Butler coach will need to build relationships fast with players such as Taylor, part of a young core recruited by former coach LaVall Jordan, to keep them out of the transfer portal.
