INDIANAPOLIS – Irrespective of how this college basketball season ends, Butler has secured the near future with its 2017 recruiting class.
Three prospects – Kyle Young, Jerald Butler and Cooper Neese – signed letters of intent Wednesday, the first day they could do so. A fourth, Christian David, is expected to add his name at a Vermont Academy ceremony later this week.
This is the highest-ranked class in Butler history: 11th nationally by 247 Sports, 23rd by Scout and Rivals.
One of the biggest issues in connection with moving to the Big East from the Horizon League and Atlantic 10 was whether recruiting could keep up with the Bulldogs’ ambition and tradition.
