INDIANAPOLIS — Kyle Young, a 6-7 forward from Massillon, Ohio, announced Monday that he has committed to play college basketball for Butler.
He posted his announcement on Twitter. In doing so, he canceled a scheduled visit to Ohio State, coached by former Butler player and coach Thad Matta. Also in Young’s final five were Purdue, Michigan and Clemson.
Young made an official visit to Butler over the weekend.
The Bulldogs have long targeted Young, and their efforts paid off. He becomes one of the most touted out-of-state high school recruits in program history, if not the highest-ranked.
