No. 6 Butler remains perfect in Big East with road win over Providence

No. 6 Butler underscored its highest-ever national ranking with its first-ever 3-0 start in Big East basketball.

Jordan Tucker came off the bench to score a season-high 17 points, and the Bulldogs held Providence to 32% shooting in a 70-58 road victory Friday night at Providence, R.I.

Butler and Seton Hall share the Big East lead at 3-0. They will meet Wednesday at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The Bulldogs are 15-1 for the fourth time in program history. They started 15-1 in 2003, 16-1 in 2008 and 19-1 in 2009.

The Bulldogs are one victory short of last season’s total (16-17 record).
