INDIANAPOLIS – No matter how many NCAA soccer championships the Indiana Hoosiers earn and how high they are ranked, beating Butler is an annual problem.
The teams went to overtime for a fifth-consecutive year, and the top-ranked Hoosiers left a packed Sellick Bowl with a 0-0 tie against the unranked Bulldogs on Wednesday night.
Coach Todd Yeagley called Indiana’s performance “probably our worst” of a 12-0-3 season. The shutout was Indiana’s ninth in a row, extending a school record. Indiana has outscored 15 opponents 34-2.
Attendance was 6,015, a record for Butler soccer and more than the Bulldogs have drawn for football since the bowl was renovated in 2010.
