Meet Butler's newest Hall of Fame class

INDIANAPOLIS – The 1997 men’s basketball team, which ended a 35-year absence from the NCAA tournament, major league pitcher Pat Neshek and four others have been chosen to the Butler Athletics Hall of Fame. Induction ceremony will be Oct. 6.

The 1997 Bulldogs, coached by Barry Collier, were 23-10 and became the first Butler team to reach the NCAA tourney since 1962. That included a 12-4 record in Midwestern Collegiate Conference play, in which the four losses came by a total of nine points, and a MCC tournament title. They were 14th in the NCAA in scoring defense and 24th in scoring margin.
