Let the Chris Holtmann to Ohio State speculation begin

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler recently lost one basketball coach over the summer. Could it happen again?

With the announcement Monday that Thad Matta is out at Ohio State, the name of Butler coach Chris Holtmann was among those floated as a possible successor.

Matta, 49, is a former Butler coach. His legacy should include the fact he gave Brad Stevens his first job in college coaching in 2000. After six seasons as Butler’s head coach and two NCAA runner-up finishes, Stevens left in July 2013 for the Boston Celtics.
