Insider: What two signees mean for Butler basketball

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler has no five-star recruits and merely two players in its college basketball signing class. So it is no surprise the 2019 class is ranked 58th by 247 Sports.

Nevertheless, the formal signing Wednesday of Khalif Battle and John-Michael Mulloy is a milestone for the Bulldogs and second-year coach LaVall Jordan.

The 6-5 Battle, of Edison, N.J., is a four-star recruit ranked 76th by ESPN and 89th by 247 Sports. That is the highest ranking on record by a Butler signee out of high school.
