INDIANAPOLIS – Hinkle magic might not be real. Yet you would have a hard time arguing otherwise.
In a photo posted on the Butler basketball Twitter account Wednesday night, Avery Sheets posed with freshman Kamar Baldwin afterward. Sheets famously made a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to beat Milwaukee 76-74 and give Butler a Horizon League championship March 1, 2003.
Baldwin, from close to the same spot on the left wing, sank a stepback two-pointer with less than a second left to cap a rally that carried Butler over Northwestern 70-68 before a riveted crowd of 7,858 at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
