INDIANAPOLIS – For much of Saturday night, Butler’s new gray basketball uniforms were a metaphor for how the season opener was going.
Just . . . gray. Not white and shining, not brilliant blue, not menacing black.
Then the Bulldogs showed what they hope will be their true colors, smothering Northern Colorado in the second half of an 89-52 victory at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
BOX SCORE: Bulldogs 89, Bears 52
Kelan Martin had 21 points in 26 minutes.
