Mike Green, a transformational figure in the Butler Bulldogs’ rise, has joined the Penn State basketball staff. He becomes director of player development.
Green, 35, recently retired as a pro player. He was Horizon League player of the year in 2008, when he led Butler in points (14.6), rebounds (6.5) and assists (5.1). Penn State coach Micah Shrewsberry was director of basketball operations for that 30-4 team.
Green is "someone who our guys can sit down with and learn from his experiences about what it takes to reach the highest levels,” Shrewsberry said in a news release.
