OMAHA – The Butler baseball team scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning, but the late charge would fall short as the Creighton Bluejays held on for a 6-4 victory. With the loss, Butler falls to 1-4 in conference action while the Bluejays improve to 4-1.
The leadoff man for each team posted great numbers on Saturday as Michael Hartnagel went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and a run scored. Daniel Woodrow countered with a 3-for-4 day at the plate for Creighton with two runs scored and an RBI.
BU ended the contest with nine total hits as the middle of the lineup all recorded one.
