INDIANAPOLIS – Head Coach Steve Farley had lunch with former Butler baseball player Sam Arnett this week. Mr. Arnett turned 105 years old on Thursday, Feb. 25! He was an outfielder at Butler, playing at the University from 1928-32.
Mr. Arnett was coached by Tony Hinkle while playing for the Bulldogs. He was a pharmacy major who worked for many years as a chemist at Eli Lilly. Mr. Arnett grew up in Indianapolis and attended Tech High School.
