That elegant and efficient Butler offense from earlier this season was not in evidence Wednesday night. But that hard-nosed Butler defense from yesteryear was back.
Roosevelt Jones scored 23 points, and the Bulldogs outrebounded the Big East’s top rebounding team in a 67-53 victory over DePaul before a crowd of 7,611 at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Blue Demons shot 39 percent.
Kellen Dunham added 16 points and Andrew Chrabascz 10. The Bulldogs (14-6, 3-5) were coming off two road losses last week and fell out of the Top 25.
• BOX SCORE: Butler 67, DePaul 53
The 53 points by DePaul (7-13, 1-7) represented the fewest scored against Butler by a Big East opponent this season.
