INDIANAPOLIS – Butler’s nonleague basketball schedule represents both opportunity and peril.

If an experienced team can regroup and win early, the Bulldogs should be on their way to the NCAA tournament after a one-year absence. Lose early, and the Big East looms as a thicket.

The final big piece of the nonleague schedule fell into place Wednesday with the announcement Minnesota would travel to Hinkle Fieldhouse for a Nov. 12 game in the Gavitt Tipoff Games matching Big Ten and Big East.

Minnesota will be one of seven power conference opponents on the Bulldogs’ schedule, and only two of the games will be at Hinkle.
