The Butler women’s soccer team moved to 7-3-0 on the year with a 1-0 win over Marquette University in their Big East conference opener. The Bulldogs defeated the Golden Eagles despite starters Paige Monaghan, Cassidy Blacha and Kyra Cooke sitting out the match with injuries.

The win, which snapped a two-game losing streak, marked the fourth straight season that the Bulldogs have opened conference play with a victory.
