INDIANAPOLIS – This had the makings of a signature weekend for Butler women’s basketball.
The Bulldogs were 16-2 and taking on two Big East bullies, DePaul and No. 9 Marquette, at Hinkle Fieldhouse. They had never beaten DePaul. Never beaten a Top 10 opponent.
Still haven’t.
Marquette blew open a close game in the third quarter Sunday and deflated the Bulldogs, 87-58, extending its winning streak to nine.
