For the 8th year, the Butler University student-athletes provided Christmas for more than 200 pre-school aged children who are students at St. Mary's Child Center in Indianapolis, IN. St. Mary's Child Center is a not-for-profit agency that offers two early childhood initiatives to positively impact the futures of young children: The Preschool Program and The Educational Outreach Program. This activity is a Butler SAAC initiative.
"When the children see us coming down the hall of their school with the wrapped boxes, they get so excited," says Sonya Hopkins, Butler's SAAC sponsor. "Our athletes have adopted St. Mary's as their own, and we are proud of their desire spread Christmas cheer in the community.
