Butler notebook: Bulldogs looking at transfers (again) to plug holes

Former Southport center has two years left Indianapolis Star

INDIANAPOLIS – If there are any point guards or centers out there looking for a college basketball home, Butler has room in Hinkle Fieldhouse.

That appears to be so after an offseason that has already been tumultuous. Butler pops up frequently on lists of those pursuing transfers. The Bulldogs have two scholarships available.

Two Butler players, Joey Brunk and Jerald Gillens-Butler, announced they are transferring. The Bulldogs are also losing seniors Paul Jorgensen and Nate Fowler.

Without Jorgensen, the Bulldogs move into the 2019-20 season with no ball-handlers other than the starting guards, Kamar Baldwin and Aaron Thompson.
